Deriving from the mystical land of Tweener, spawned from the great bike tree, noticeable by their flourescent orange pots and general nerdy behavior, the women of Nerd Crew are predominantly made up of people from the Honors Dorms on campus (Lechner, McFadden, Haas, and Clements). Being Nerds, an awkward and welcoming people, we accept people from anywhere on or off campus. All you need is a love of learning and the redassery to do hard work and see it through to the end. 

 

Lechner Hall was built in 1989 for housing for the Honors Community. At this time, McFadden and Haas Halls, both built 10 years earlier, had all female crews and cut under their own Chiefs. By the next year Lechner Hall had two Chief lines (both male) and we got our own Yellowpot in 1991. The "Leknerds" are coed and have had consistent, redass, and motivational attendance since its conception. Post collapse, the McFadden Flames were absorbed into the Honors Community and also became coed. 

 

Nerd Crew Bonfire started up again in 2006 with one Chief, cutting under FHK. The next year, both Old Army Chief lines were reintroduced, this time with one being female! We got our Yellowpot back the next year and the tradition of Bonfire Nerds conitnued. A fifth line was eventually added in 2010 as the crew continued to grow. Nerd Crew last won Centerpole in 2011 and has had the consistent tradition of hving Perimeter Pole each year. The Nerd Chair and Nerd Crew as a whole has also tradtionally been in charge of set making at Stack each year and Nerd Girl takes pride in that tradition. 

 

Nerd Crew is a welcoming and wonderfully weird community that produces friendships that last a lifetime.
